That question raise up a coule days ago to me, and that is still yet to be resolve as luxury hotels have long been a symbol of comfort and opulence, but the difference between five, six, and seven-star hotels can be quite significant.
The classification of hotels is rated from 1 to 5 stars.
The concept of 6-star and 7-star hotels is not officially recognized in many places, rather, these terms are often used informally to describe luxury accommodations that exceed the typical 5-star standards.
Michelin or Hotelstars Union categories a “PALACE” any hotel that is considering above 5 stars expectations.
As a business example, The Ritz in Paris is a 6 stars Hotel, The Carlton and the Martinez in Cannes France is considered as Palace, however, on search engine it will appear only as a 5 stars hotel, that because there is not enough data for the OTAs to promote those online.
Hence, the reason that is crucial for 6 and 7 Stars to be present on all specific hospitality trade show around the world.
As a result, there isn't a specific count of 6-star and 7-star hotels worldwide. However, some hotels claim to be 6 or 7 stars, often emphasising their exceptional service, amenities, and luxury. These types of hotels are rare and usually found in high-end destinations.
While five-star hotels offer high-quality services and amenities, six and seven-star establishments elevate the guest experience to another level.
For example, typical hotel will have ceiling height of 2.5-meter, 5 stars hotel will have a minimum of 2.8-meter ceiling height, and 6 or 7 will need to be at least at 3.2 meters to satisfy this classification.
Five-star hotels are already impressive, providing guests with exceptional service, fine dining, and elegant accommodations.
Here are some unique 5 stars:
Six-star hotels take this experience a step further by emphasising personalised services and exclusivity.
For example, a six-star hotel might offer butler service, where a dedicated staff member caters to every need of the guest, from unpacking luggage to planning unique experiences, a private Nany for your children or a Chef.
Seven-star hotels push boundaries even further, creating a world where luxury knows no limits, but your imagination, you can order a Helicopter, a Yacht or private Jet.
These hotels often feature ultra-exclusive amenities, such as private pools, personal chefs, and bespoke experiences tailored to individual preferences.
This level of service is exemplified by hotels like the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, (https://www.jumeirah.com/en/stay/dubai/burj-al-arab-jumeirah?utm_source=google&utm_medium=google%20places&utm_campaign=hotel ) which is often cited as a seven-star property due to its extravagant features and unrivaled service.
Technology plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience in luxury hotels. Five-star hotels offer modern conveniences, such as Wi-Fi and smart TVs, IOT.
On the other hand, six and seven-star hotels leverage advanced technology to create seamless and memorable experiences.
Some high-end hotels incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) to personalize services, allowing guests to control room settings through voice commands or mobile apps. Additionally, virtual reality (VR) can provide immersive experiences, such as virtual tours of the hotel or its surrounding attractions.
These technological advancements not only enhance comfort but also ensure that guests feel valued and understood during their stay.
Looking ahead, the hospitality industry will significantly evolve over the next ten years. As consumer expectations continue to rise, six and seven-star hotels will likely adopt even more innovative technologies to stay competitive. Sustainability will also become a major focus, with luxury hotels implementing eco-friendly practices and promoting wellness. Guests will increasingly seek experiences that are not only luxurious but also environmentally conscious.
Moreover, the integration of smart technology will transform the guest experience, making it more personalized and convenient. The rise of remote work may lead to an increase in demand for extended stays, prompting hotels to adapt their offerings to cater to this trend.
Extravaganza such as The Orient Express Silenseas as the World largest sailing ship to offer the most exclusive services will be categorized as 7 Stars, some think 8 stars…
In conclusion, the differences between five, six, and seven-star hotels lie not only in the level of service and amenities but also in the unique experiences they offer.
With the integration of advanced technology and a growing focus on sustainability, the hospitality industry is set to evolve dramatically in the coming years.
As luxury hotels continue to innovate and adapt, they will redefine what it means to provide exceptional service, ensuring that every guest's experience is truly unforgettable. Embracing these changes will not only enhance guest satisfaction but also set a new standard in the world of luxury hospitality.
